Various updates
So, I've been with Davison for nearly a month now -- I take that back: Exactly a month today. It's my anniversary and I didn't even know it! Anyway, I continue to love my work. Nerf battles and Luaus (that, due to my crippling social anxiety, I do not attend) aside, I get paid to draw stuff, to come up with packaging that is new, interesting and atypical. How great is that? No, not everything is a picknic, and not every product is exciting...but honestly, I find it a really fun challenging to come up with interesting and eye-catching packaging for boring or weird things.
I'm still (slowly) working on my Moth Rider -- I didn't get anything done on her last weekend, so its still been just what I can do on my lunchbreaks, but here's the work I've done so far:
I like how her hair turned out...not the fluffy cloud I had originally envisioned, but the whorls and piles of ridiculous strawberry blonde curls please me greatly.
In other non-work art news...today I heard back from the studio that comissioned the illustration for the Irish fest. I knew that giving in and posting it would be the lucky charm. They say that, due to the work I put in, they'd like to pay me to finish it regardless, and are sure the client will want to use it on a poster or some-such. So, that is cool. I suppose I will probably be working on that this weekend. So...not on the moth girl. That just going to be a slow personal project.
I also got contacted by my once dean at The Art Institute regarding another bit of illustration freelance --what the client is looking for is not a style I have specifically done before, but I told him I am super adaptable and sent him some samples of a few things that sort of fit sideways into what he wants, so we will see.
Not a lot else is shiny and new, and I have other web-tasks to fulfill this evening (yes, I need to check my facebook) so I will bid you a fond adeu, but expect new pretties soon.
